Setting the volume
Follow these steps to ensure minimum noise and distortion:
Step one, increase volume on your audio source (phone, computer, game console, or musical instrument).
Next, increase Master Volume fader at least halfway.
Increase the volume on the speakers or amplifier you will be listening to to a point slightly above the desired listening volume. If using the headphone output, increase the headphone volume wheel on the left side of the mixer.
Set all Channel Volumes to zero. Begin playing music or other sounds.
Slowly increase Channel Volume faders and watch the indicator LED. When the LED is flashing pink once in a while, you are at the right channel volume. If it is constantly pink or flashing pink a lot, reduce the Channel Volume.
Adjust overall volume using the Master fader, making sure the speakers or amplifier is turned up high enough. Note: If the speaker / amplifier volume is too loud, increasing the volume on the mixer may result in distortion.
